Specializing in creative photography of exclusive Lodges, hotels, resorts and architecture it was a privilege to be assigned the extremely beautiful Otterskloof game reserve. The first of my photographic assignments to capture the facilities of Otterskloof Game reserve for the multimedia platform for marketing this Reserve went extremely well. As far as I'm concerned Otterskloof is the most beautiful Game reserve in the Free State and one of the most beautiful in the country. Otterskloof is hugged by the Van Der Kloof dam and a gem waiting to be discovered.   The owners, Abel and Karen Erasmus, are well-known conservationists and breeders of rare game species. Abel is a highly respected breeder with a proven track record of more than 20 years.

As former owner of Wintershoek Safaris in the Northern Cape, Abel was instrumental in one of the biggest private game relocations when the land was expropriated and sold to the National Parks Board in 2006. The National Parks Board has since established the Mokhala National Park on the purchased land. Most of the game at Wintershoek Safaris were relocated to Otterskloof Private Game Reserve.

To accommodate the game and continue with his breeding programmes, Abel acquired land in the Philippolis district and named the newly established reserve Otterskloof Private Game Reserve
